STURGIS, S.D. (KFGO) – A 15-year-old boy is dead and four other teenage boys are injured after a pickup rolled on a gravel road in western South Dakota last weekend.
The crash happened Sunday night on the grounds of Sturgis High School.
The State Patrol says two 15-year-old boys were in the cab of the pickup. The boy who died and three 14-year-olds were riding in the box when the driver lost control while turning into a gravel lot.
The pickup rolled and the boys in the box were all thrown from the pickup. The three 14-year-olds suffered minor injuries. The boy who died was taken to a hospital in Sturgis before being flown to a hospital in Rapid City where he died.
Charges are pending against the driver.
