WADENA, Minn. (KFGO) – The man who died in an Ottertail County fire Thursday night has been identified. The Ottertail County Sheriff’s Office says the victim has been identified as David Hanes, 73.
The Sheriff’s Office says deputies and several fire departments were called to a residence west of Wadena around 7:40 p.m. for a structure fire.
First responders found Hanes unresponsive inside the residence. He was taken to Astera Hospital in Wadena where he died.
A dog also died in the fire. The residence is a total loss.
Fire Departments from Wadena, Bluffton, Deer Creek, and Henning responded along with Henning Ambulance, and the State Fire Marshal.
