VALLEY CITY, N.D. (KFGO) – A Mandan man has been tied to the hit-and-run traffic death of a man who was walking on I-94 near Valley City late last month.
The highway patrol says charges against Garret Kuntz, 22, are under review by the Barnes County State’s Attorneys Office.
The body of a 27-year-old man from Honduras was found in the ditch on December 21. He had been seen walking along the freeway on December 20, but declined assistance.

Parts of a pickup were recovered and the patrol issued a request to the public for information that could lead to the vehicle and the driver. Pieces of a bug deflector were found and put back together and the patrol believed that a trim-piece was missing from behind the bumper on the front passenger side along with a chrome piece from the headlight assembly.
At the time, the patrol said the pieces appeared to be from a Ford 150 or Ford 250 from the early to mid 2000s.
