Minnesota Adult Standard Driver License
MOORHEAD (KFGO/KVRR) — People in Clay County will no longer be able to receive a same-day driver’s license after Jan. 30.
The Same-Day Issuance Pilot Project, which ran in Clay County and Lakeville, is being discontinued. The program is available to those who apply for a new, renewal or replacement of a standard class D driver’s license, permit or I-D card for one more week. It launched in October 2022.
Minnesota Department of Public Safety recommended to the legislature discontinuing the program after various issues with security, quality, and appearance of cards.
