The Northern Crops Institute, a regional agricultural education and research center based in Fargo, ND and a frequent collaborator with the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council, recently announced this year’s schedule of training courses for processors and international importers.
The institute is a joint effort between Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota to develop markets for growers by equipping buyers and end-users with the best practices and data on their purchasing decisions.
The Council often brings international trade teams to visit and learn about the quality of U.S. grains and how to properly procure them. Council staff specializing in different commodities or applications also undergo NCI training to be the best possible asset in developing agricultural export markets worldwide.
This year, highlighted in-person NCI programs include a course on ethanol production and procurement to be held Mar. 23-27, a workshop on barley’s applications in food during the summer and a grain merchandising and procurement management course to be held Sept. 21-30.
Many other courses are available online and on demand, as well as tailored opportunities created specifically for the needs of various companies.
More information about NCI’s services is available online.
