PELICAN RAPIDS, Minn. — Dozens of people in Pelican Rapids voiced their opposition to ICE activity in their town and state.
Protesters gathering on North Broadway in downtown Pelican Rapids, near the bridge spanning Pelican River. They held signs showing their displeasure with ICE activity in Minnesota, especially after the death of Renee Good in Minneapolis last week.
According to posts on social media, ICE arrested a 43-year-old Nicaraguan man, who lived in the community for three years.
“We are out here supporting our neighbors by protesting what’s going on right now in our country and in our state,” said Nanette Albright with Pelican Rapids Resistors. The group who helped organize Monday’s protest. “We’re very concerned about our state of Minnesota. And we love our neighbors and we want to protect them.”
There have been multiple reports of ICE sightings in outstate Minnesota over the past couple of days.
