CHAFFEE, N.D. (KFGO) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says a 9-year-old suffered extensive injuries when they were bitten by two dogs in Chaffee.
Deputies and Casselton Ambulance responded to the residence Tuesday afternoon after the child’s parent reported two rottweilers entered their yard and bit the child multiple times. The child was taken to a hospital.
The dogs do not belong to the victim’s family. They were impounded by the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Jesse Jahner says his office has identified the owner of the dogs.
“We will be forwarding the report to the State’s Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges involving our County Animal Ordinance,” Jahner says.
Jahner says the violation could potentially be a class B Misdemeanor.
