Devils Lake Regional Airport
DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (KFGO/KZZY) – Some scary moments for passengers on a Skywest flight bound for Devils Lake on Sunday afternoon.
Fire Chief Nate Bennett says emergency crews were requested to be on standby for the commercial flight from Denver.
Officials say the plane reported a rapid decompression of the aircraft and the oxygen masks deployed. 46 passengers were on the flight.
A review of the flight logs shows the plane deviated from the flight path and flew in a wide circle well south of the airfield apparently to quickly reduce altitude before continuing into Devils Lake.
Bennett says the plane landed safely.
