ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) – A federal jury in St. Paul found a Mexican man, who is a convicted sex offender and in the U.S. illegally, guilty of assaulting a federal agent earlier this year.
In June, officers tried to arrest Roberto Munoz-Guatemala, 40, on an immigration order during a traffic stop. Munoz-Guatemala refused commands and an agent broke the back window of his vehicle to open the door.
Munoz-Guatemala drove off. The agent’s arm was stuck inside the vehicle and he was dragged about 100 yards.
Munoz-Guatemala was found guilty after a three-day trial. In December of 2022, he was convicted in Hennepin County of repeatedly sexually abusing a minor.
