FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO/KVRR) —Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow on X says troopers on Sunday afternoon were responding to and investigating several crashes in Otter Tail County west of Fergus Falls.
At 1:29 p.m., a semi was stopped in traffic on westbound I-94 with an SUV stopped behind the semi. The driver of the SUV began to move when they noticed a pickup with a utility trailer approaching at speed, but the pickup hit the SUV and then the semi. The pickup came to rest partially underneath the tractor-trailer.
The 19-year-old driver of the pickup, Ethan Gronwold of Miles City, Montana, has non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. A passenger in the pickup that was hit also has non-life threatening injuries. She was taken to Lake Region Hospital.
Around 1:44 p.m., a vehicle heading eastbound on I-94 in the same area was cut off by a driver and braked. A third driver didn’t realize the driver braked and crashed into the rear of the vehicle.
That driver, 22-year-old Mckenna Kaszynski of Fergus Falls, was taken to Lake Region Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other driver was not hurt.
Grabow wrote that some crashes were blocking westbound travel on I-94 west of Fergus Falls.
