OSAGE, Minn. (KFGO/KVRR) – Two boys were rescued after falling through the ice while fishing on a lake in Becker County Tuesday afternoon.
The Becker County Sheriff’s Office says it was called to Straight Lake in Osage around 2:50 p.m. The Minnesota DNR arrived with a boat and broke through the ice at straight lake access.
The Natural Resources officer and a Hubbard County deputy made it out to the 13- and 14-year-old boys who were in a cargo sled when they broke through the ice.
The officers got them safely back to shore. The boys were checked by EMS. They were not injured.
The sheriff’s office is advising everyone to stay off area lakes at this time due to the warmer November weather.
