OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn. (KFGO) – A garage was destroyed and other property damaged after a fire in Otter Tail County on Tuesday evening.
A Minnesota State Trooper on routine patrol spotted heavy smoke and fire coming from a property north of Dunvilla on U.S. Highway 59 around 5:35 p.m.
The trooper located a detached garage engulfed in flames. The fire spread to a second garage, pickup and fish house. The first garage is a total loss and the second garage has moderate damage.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says the fire started in a burn barrel that the homeowner was burning garbage in. Leaves and debris caught fire around the barrel and spread to the garages.
No injuries were reported.
