Shannon Marie Haarsager passed away unexpectedly on October 4, 2025, at her parent’s home near Leonard, ND.
Shannon was born February 20, 1988, in Fargo, ND to Todd and Kim (Olson) Haarsager. She grew up near Fort Ransom, ND where she attended grade school and made lifelong friends that became like sisters. Shannon started high school in Lisbon, ND until her family moved and she graduated from West Fargo High School. Following high school, Shannon went on to NSDU where she received her degree in nursing. As an RN, Shannon was able to use her compassion to care for others. No matter where Shannon lived, she always loved returning to her hometown of Fort Ransom.
Shannon was an avid Food Network watcher which may explain why she was such a good cook. She would make delicious homemade ramen for her friends and was also known for her beloved cheeseball and bruschetta. Shannon also liked baking, particularly Grandma Haarsager’s chocolate chip cookie recipe.
Shannon loved girl’s trips to hang out with her friends, especially if she could control the music – which was all the time. On their adventures, she encouraged her friends to explore paranormal attractions like Nopeming Sanitarium in Duluth, Haunted Museum in Las Vegas and Bullock Hotel in Deadwood. It’s no surprise to anyone that her favorite color was black. She also loved to go canoeing and kayaking in Nimrod and Fort Ransom.
On June 14, 2024, the love of Shannon’s life, Vivienne “Vivi”, was born. Vivi was the light of Shannon’s life. She even let her wear pink! Vivi reminds us so much of Shannon when she was that age. She will continue to be a source of joy and light for us all.
Shannon is survived by her parents, Todd and Kim; daughter, Vivi; brother, Eric; sister, Stephanie Faller; niece, Delilah; nephew, Odin; grandmother, Carol Haarsager; her special dog, Vinny; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and friends that will miss her dearly.
Shannon is preceded in death by her grandparents, Elroy Haarsager, Patricia Olson and William Olson.
