The 2025 American Honey Princess, Emilia Burnham, will make several appearances in North Dakota during the week of Oct. 19 – 25, 2025.
“It is fitting that the American Honey Princess is visiting North Dakota as we are the number one producer of honey in the nation,” Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said. “Emilia will be traveling around the state as part of our North Dakota Agriculture in the Classroom program to teach about the importance of honey bees and pollination in our everyday lives.”
Many of Emilia’s appearances are student-focused but the public is invited to meet Emilia at Papa’s Pumpkin Patch in Bismarck, on Sunday, Oct. 19 from 1-4 p.m. to learn, take a photo with Emilia, get an autograph and taste North Dakota honey.
Emilia is the daughter of John and Pavlina Burnham of Murrieta, California. She is a master’s student at the University of California, Riverside, where she is majoring in entomology. Her studies focus on the honeybee microscopic fungal parasite Nosema ceranae. Emilia is a fourth generation beekeeper and has a strong interest in honeybee products and their benefits to mankind. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, ballroom dancing, baking, and spending time with loved ones.
