JAMESTOWN, N.D. (KFGO) – A Jamestown man is facing charges for allegedly asking a co-worker to hack into his own brother’s security system so he could kill him.
Court records say Kelly Spivey’s co-worker reported that Spivey approached him about hacking into his brother’s security system because he believes his brother is stealing from their father. Spivey allegedly asked the co-worker for his help because the co-worker has a cyber security background and once told Spivey he can hack into computers.
The co-worker told police the reason Spivey wanted access to his brother’s security system was to find out when his brother was home alone so he could kill him. Spivey gave the co-worker a note with his brother’s name, his sister-in-law’s name, their email address, phone numbers, and home address.
Police contacted Spivey’s brother who lives out of state. He told investigators he believes Spivey is a valid threat to his life.
Spivey told investigators he did ask his co-worker to hack into his brother’s security system, but claims it was so he could see his father on the camera system.
