Aug. 7 fire in Wheaton
WHEATON, Minn. (KFGO) – The cause of a fire early last month that destroyed the Triple J Seed Farms Elevator in Wheaton was believed to be electrical.
Traverse County Sheriff Trevor Wright says that’s the conclusion of a deputy state fire marshal, who investigated the blaze.
Wright says the owner of the elevator has since torn down the structure.
The August 7 fire presented a challenge to fire crews. A broken water main earlier that day affected the water supply. Fire departments from three other towns hauled water to the scene and farmers delivered water to Wheaton in tanker-trailers.
