CASS LAKE, Minn. (KFGO) – A 41-year-old man from Grafton, North Dakota died in a drowning in northern Minnesota Saturday evening.
Cass County Sheriff Bryan Welk says his office received reports just before 6 p.m. of a person in Cass Lake. The man entered the water to work on a boat motor issue and never resurfaced.
Welk says juveniles in the boat tried to throw him a life jacket. Rescue workers responded within minutes, but couldn’t find the man until almost 8 p.m.
An autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office in St. Paul, and the drowning remains under investigation.
