WALKER, Minn. (KFGO) — The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Walker, Minnesota.
Walker Police Chief Peter Anderley says a resident flagged down an officer just before 6:40 p.m. Friday evening for a man wearing only his underwear with a knife. The officer made contact with the man, who ran into a Dollar General.
Once inside the store, the man threatened to kill all the employees. Chief Anderley says the suspect threw items at the officer and sprayed them with bug spray. The suspect charged at the officer, and was shot once in the arm.
The suspect was transported by ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Bemidji.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Leech Lake Police Department, Pine River Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, and North Ambulance also responded.
