HORACE, N.D. (KFGO) – The pilot is believed to be okay after the crash of a crop-spraying airplane about three miles west of Horace Wednesday night.
The FAA, in a preliminary report, says the pilot was the only person aboard the Air Tractor 301, A fixed wing, single-engine aircraft. The report says the plane crashed in a cornfield due to unknown circumstances.
Highway Patrol Captain Bryan Niewind says the pilot had a mechanical issue and attempted to land on a road. He says the plane flipped on its top. The pilot walked to a nearby farm and was taken to a Fargo hospital. Niewind says he does not believe the pilot was admitted to the hospital.
The plane is registered to Ag. Spray Inc. of Moorhead.
