Bowen Fladland (Codington County Jail)
WATERTOWN, S.D. (KFGO/KWAT) – An eastern South Dakota man has pleaded not guilty to charges that he murdered his mother and cut her head off.
Bowen Fladland of Clark is being held in the Codington County jail on $500,000 cash-only bond for the July 5 murder of 70-year-old Marlene Fladland. Officers discovered her decapitated body under a sheet in front of her home in Clark.
Fladland was arraigned Monday. His murder trial is scheduled to begin Nov. 13.
The case is being prosecuted by the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office and the Clark County State’s Attorney.
