
FARGO (KFGO) – Another person has been sentenced for his part in the assault of a man who was left severely injured in a beating in downtown Fargo in April of last year.
Esiquio Hernandez pleaded guilty to two counts related to the 2024 assault and another last month.
The victim in the 2024 assault was beaten by Hernandez and five others after he tried breaking up a fight on NP Avenue west of Broadway. The victim suffered broken bones in his face and needed a titanium plate placed in his forehead.
Two other charges were dropped as part of the plea agreement.
A judge sentenced Hernandez to a total of five years in prison with one year suspended and credit for time served.
Three other defendants have already been sentenced and one was found guilty at trial and is awaiting sentencing. A sixth defendant is scheduled for trial later this year.
