
FARGO (KFGO) – Essentia Health on 32nd Avenue S. was locked down Wednesday morning. The lockdown was lifted at noon and a Moorhead man was subsequently arrested for making a threatening phone call to the hospital.
Fargo Police Capt. Matt Christensen says at 7:34 a.m., police received a report of a threatening phone call. Christensen says police did not believe there was a threat to the public.
Late Wednesday afternoon, police announced that an arrest had been made.
The call was tracked to a Moorhead residence where Jerome Lampley, 57, of Moorhead, was arrested. He was booked into the Clay County Jail shortly before 1:30 p.m. Lampley was arrested for terrorizing.
Essentia Health Media Relations Specialist Caitlin Pallai said the decision to go into lockdown was made out of an abundance of caution.
in a statement shortly before 1 p.m., Pallai announced that the lockdown had been lifted. She said hospital staff received a threatening phone call. As a result, we engaged our law enforcement partners and placed the campus into lockdown out of an abundance of caution. Scheduled patient encounters were postponed until noon.
