Franklin Stewart (Cass Co. jail)
FARGO (KFGO) – A man is facing a felony charge for allegedly trying to steal a case of beer from a Fargo bar.
Police were called to Chub’s Pub on University Drive North just before 11 a.m. Thursday for a report that a man walked into the bar, took a case of beer and left. Court records say a bartender chased 42-year-old Franklin Stewart and a fight ensued. Stewart struck the bartender in the head several times before fleeing. He left the case of beer, which was valued at $7.99.
Police were able to identify Stewart using surveillance video, and he was arrested Friday. He is currently in the Cass County Jail and is charged with felony attempted robbery.
