
(KNFL/KFGO) – It was the 1st game of a 3 game weekend series at Newman Outdoor Field between the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks, and the Sioux Falls Canaries, as this series would be the 1st 3 games of a 7 game homestand for Fargo-Moorhead.
Sioux Falls would start the scoring early against Kyle Crigger in the top of the 1st, as Mike Hart drew a bases loaded walk to make it 1-0 Canaries. Sioux Falls would make it 2-0 on an RBI single by Jordan Barth in the top of the 2nd. But, with one swing in the bottom of the 2nd, Brendon Dadson slashed a 2 run single to tie it up at 2 after 2 innings. After an RBI groundout by Jordan Barth in the top of the 4th, the Canaries would lead 3-2. However, Jose Sermo would launch a solo home run in the bottom of the 5th to tie it up at 3. Hunter Clanin would score in the bottom of the 6th on a wild pitch by Sioux Falls starter, Seth Miller, and Dillon Thomas would follow up with an RBI single. After those 2 runs, that would make it a 5-3 Redhawks advantage in the bottom of the 6th. It would be the first lead for Fargo-Moorhead. Then, in the bottom of the 7th, Hunter Clanin put down an excellent bunt to score another run to make it 6-3. In that same inning, with Aiden Byrne at the plate, Jordan Barth of Sioux Falls, made a throwing error that scored 2 runs. The lead had ballooned to 8-3 Fargo-Moorhead. The final run was scored in the bottom of the 8th, as Alec Olund smashed a triple to center field, and eventually scored on an error, making it 9-3 Redhawks. Alec Olund ended up going 3 for 5 in the win.
The starting pitcher for the Redhawks, Kyle Crigger, was given the no-decision in the win, while the winning pitcher was Parker Harm of Fargo-Moorhead. The losing pitcher was Seth Miller of Sioux Falls. The Redhawks look to win the series tomorrow evening, as the pregame show begins at 5:40 PM on AM 740 The FAN KNFL Fargo/107.3 FM.
