
FRAZEE, Minn. (KFGO/KVRR) – The man shot at the Frazee rest stop after a pursuit through Becker and Otter Tail Counties is in stable condition.
The Becker County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home north of Detroit Lakes where 36-year-old Todd Burris of Bemidji is accused of breaking in, assaulting someone, stealing a gun, and leaving. Deputies located Burris in Detroit Lakes and a pursuit began.
Officers from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, the State Patrol, Detroit Lakes Police, and eventually the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office chased Burris until he stopped at the rest stop. It was there that he was shot.
Burris was taken to Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes and later transferred to Essentia in Fargo. He will be booked into the Otter Tail County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault once he’s released from the hospital.
The officers were wearing body cameras. The Minnesota BCA is investigating the shooting.
