John Hoeven, Kevin Cramer, and Julie Fedorchak held a press conference to brag about why they voted for what they call, the “one big, beautiful bill.” Now a law that they say will change America forever. They’re certainly right on some aspects, but very wrong in others.
It’s a big bill. It’s so big they were able to hide things in it that will change America forever. The problem is, it changes America in a terrible way.
The first thing this law does is change America’s deficit in an evil way. They voted to add $20+ trillion to the national debt. A number so big that our grandkids won’t even be able to pay it off. All that from a party that claims to be fiscally conservative. A term they themselves admit they no longer can use!
They grew the debt in the easiest of ways and gave the richest among us a huge tax break. The percent they pay is no longer close to what the middle and lower classes pay. All because the rich want to be richer. In fairness, Harold Hamm is barely squeaking by, he needs a tax break!
The Republicans also threw the most vulnerable among us to the curb. They took away their medicaid. They took away their rural hospitals. And they took away over 30 million people’s health insurance. All of that because in the eyes of Republicans, they don’t matter. All because “those people” deserve it. Right?
When did we as human beings stop caring for our future generations? When did we stop caring for the most vulnerable among us? I could tell you it began with the election of Donald Trump, but I don’t think that’s fair. I think it started when the Republican Party started showing us exactly who they are.
Good riding with you,
Joel
