MAHNOMEN, Minn. (KFGO/KVRR) — A Thief River Falls, Minnesota man is dead after swerving into the path of an oncoming semi near Mahnomen.
Norman County Sheriff’s deputies say 33-year-old Jerry Redden fled from them Wednesday afternoon after they stopped him for a welfare check on a suicidal male.
The pursuit entered Mahnomen County where Redden and the semi collided about four miles north of Mahnomen. Redden died at the scene.
The semi driver was not hurt.
Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the crash.
