ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) – A Twin Cities man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to his part in a fentanyl distribution case where drugs were hidden in stuffed animals.
Robiel Williams, 25, and others traveled to Arizona where they purchased fentanyl, concealed the drugs inside stuffed animals and mailed the packages to Minnesota. Fentanyl was then sold across the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota. The fingerprints of Williams and co-defendants were found on some of the packages.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says it was the largest fentanyl bust in state history. 280,000 pills were seized with a street value of $2.2 million.
