
LINCOLN, Neb. (KNFL) – Jake Dykhoff tossed a complete game shutout June 28 as the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks took game two of a weekend series over the Lincoln Saltdogs. Dykhoff went the distance for Fargo-Moorhead in 102 pitches, the right-hander allowed just two hits and struck out 12 batters. He allowed no walks in the ballgame and lowered his season ERA to 1.91.
The Fargo-Moorhead offense stepped up with five runs of support for Dykhoff, led by Lamar Sparks who had a 2-2 day at the plate that included a two-run home run in the ninth inning. Fargo-Moorhead grabbed three insurance runs in the ninth inning to push the lead to 5-0. Newly acquired RedHawks infielder Jose Sermo also had a two-hit game for Fargo-Moorhead.
The RedHawks improve to 22-24 with the win, Lincoln is also 22-24 in their campaign. Lincoln took game one of the series Friday night, the rubber game is set for Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m..
