FARGO (KFGO) – The city of Fargo opened a time capsule Thursday evening that was sealed in 1975. The opening highlighted the city’s 70’s retro rewind celebration.
“We remain a community that is resilient, forward thinking and full of potential. Just like the people of 1975, we gather here tonight with a hope for the future, pride in our past and a strong connection to one another.” Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney said.
Mayor Mahoney, along with archivists from NDSU and Bonanzaville presented the opening of the capsule and investigated the artifacts inside.
Contents of the capsule included t-shirts, newspapers, documents from the city, a frisbee, a telephone and more. The city of Fargo is considering creating a new time capsule next year.
