Jordan Biddell Jr. (Roberts County Sheriff's Office)
SISSETON, S.D. (KFGO KWAT) – A man wanted in Roberts County is in the hospital after he was injured during a police pursuit Wednesday night.
Roberts County Sheriff Tyler Appel says deputies with the sheriff’s office, in coordination with Sisseton police and Sisseton-Wahpeton tribal police, attempted to take Jordan Biddell Jr. into custody on active warrants related to aggravated assault and robbery.
Biddell was in a parked vehicle when officers approached him. At that point, Biddell fled, nearly striking one officer in the process.
A pursuit was initiated, continuing east through Sisseton. Appel says during the chase, Biddell lost control of the vehicle and went into the ditch. Biddell was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the wreckage.
Officers immediately rendered first aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. Appel says the extent of Biddell’s injuries are unknown, however, his condition is believed to be critical.
Biddell was wanted after he entered a convenience store on June 4, attempted to buy alcohol, and then produced a revolver-style BB gun, pointed it at the store clerk and demanded money.
