CROOKSTON, Minn. (KFGO) – A rural Erskine man is dead after crashing his motorcycle on a gravel road about 10 miles east of Crookston in northwest Minnesota.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a passerby who came upon the crash on a county road about a mile-and-a-half north of U.S. Highway 2 around 1 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies found 39-year-old Travis Shimpa lying in the ditch. He died at the scene. The Sheriff’s Department report did not say whether Shimpa was wearing a helmet.
The crash is under investigation.
