He is survived by Wife Kathy, Sister Sharon Weitzel (Jeff), Sister-in-Law Mavoureen Styf, and extended New York family. Colin Styf, born on February 7, 1943, in Breckenridge, MN, to Arnold and Myrtle (Ferguson), lived a life defined by dedication, craftsmanship, and love. Growing up in Dwight Township, he cultivated a deep passion for farming, an unwavering work ethic, and a knack for tinkering that shaped his entire life. After graduating high school, Colin enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country proudly for four years. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to his roots and began farming independently. Beyond the fields, Colin’s industrious spirit found him trucking and later driving bus for NDSCS. In upstate New York, Colin met Kathy, the love of his life, and they were married in June of 1995. Together, they shared a beautiful partnership, from dominating their local bowling league to supporting one another through life’s many adventures. Colin’s career eventually led him to Walmart, where he took great pride in his work as a truck driver until his retirement. Colin’s retirement allowed him to immerse himself in his greatest passion: restoring John Deere equipment. His meticulous craftsmanship extended beyond farm machinery, as he transformed countless other items with ingenuity, often incorporating the iconic John Deere aesthetic. Colin’s pride in his work was evident as he showcased his restorations at events across the state, where his talent and dedication were admired by many. In 2020, Colin and Kathy relocated to Pleasant Garden, NC, where they embraced the warm weather and formed lasting bonds within their community. These relationships quickly grew into an extended family, bringing joy and new memories to their lives. Colin’s humor, wisdom, and infectious enthusiasm for life left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Known for his immaculate yard and attention to detail, Colin’s pride in his surroundings mirrored his approach to life. He cherished sharing his knowledge and engaging with anyone willing to listen, finding joy in every moment spent with loved ones and friends. Over 30 years of marriage, Colin and Kathy built a life filled with laughter, love, and shared memories that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
