WEST FARGO (KFGO-KVRR) – The YMCA Northern Sky is reviewing policies after a child was left outside during an after-school program on Tuesday.
The incident happened at L.E. Berger Elementary. YMCA staff notified officials about the incident and spoke with the family of the child.
“A group was outside, and when returning inside, a child was left outside. We have taken the steps we needed with licensing and our policies,” according to a text message to parents.
“It’s important to note that we self-reported this instance to the appropriate authorities because we take transparency and accountability really, very seriously,” Katie McCormick, Vice-President of Marketing and Communications of the YMCA Northern Sky, said. “While the child was safe, we take the matter very seriously. And we’re very sorry that it occurred.”
