FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO KBRF) – A Fergus Falls man has been arrested for assaulting someone with a machete and driving at them in his car.
Raymond King, 53, was arrested Thursday after Fergus Falls Police received a report of an assault.
Police say King was upset because he thought the victim was recording him. When the victim laughed and denied it, King parked his car and pulled out a two-foot long machete. Police say King came at the victim with the machete, saying, “I’m going to chop you up.” Court documents say King then got in his car and left, only to return about 30 minutes later when he attempted to hit the victim with his car.
Police say he told an officer that the person who had been recording him should also be arrested, and that he was “not going to take any s**t.”
Later, King told police that he had cornered the victim and asked why they were recording him and only pulled out the weapon after the victim held up their phone, thinking that they would crack his windshield. He also told police that he has blocked victim from his phone, and the two have had prior disagreements without weapons.
King has been charged with two counts of 2nd degree assault.
