MANKATO, Minn. – A federal judge is ordering the release of an international Minnesota State University-Mankato student, who was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Mohammed Hoque from Bangladesh has been jailed since March 28. U.S. District Judge Jerry Blackwell says Hoque should be released because he was targeted for his social media posts.
Hoque filed a lawsuit claiming he was being detained unlawfully and believes he was arrested because of his support of Palestinians in the war between Israel and Hamas.
