WASHINGTON (KFGO) – The USDA has announced President Trump’s appointments for Farm Service Agency and Rural Development State Director roles.
Tom Campbell has been appointed State Director for Rural Development in North Dakota. Campbell started Campbell Farms with his two brothers, and has been involved with farming, real estate, and banking.
Brad Thykeson was appointed State Executive Director for Farm Service Agency in North Dakota, a position he held during President Trump’s first term. Thykeson is a third-generation farmer, who farms corn, soybeans, wheat, and edible beans in Steele, Barnes, and Traill counties in North Dakota.
Kurt Blomgren has been appointed State Executive Director for the Farm Service Agency in Minnesota. He is a fourth-generation family farmer from Butterfield, Minnesota.
Both roles connect local farmers and elected officials with the USDA and national resources.
“This new group of USDA appointees will ensure President Trump’s America First agenda is a reality in rural areas across the country,” Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins said Friday. “I am grateful for the leadership of these new state directors and look forward to their work reorienting the agency to put Farmers First again”
