SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO-WCCO) – South St. Paul City Council member Pam Bakken won’t be charged after a 3-year old child tested positive for meth.
The child became ill while being cared for by her in-home daycare late last year.
The Dakota County Attorney’s Office said Tuesday there’s no way the state can prove the child ingested meth at Bakken’s daycare given the timing of the symptoms.
They add that even if the meth was ingested at the daycare, the state wouldn’t be able to prove Bakken knew the meth was in her home and/or that she deprived the child of necessary supervision.
Bakken’s faced calls to resign during the investigation.
Her in-home daycare license remains suspended.
