ST. PAUL, Minn. – A bill passed by the Minnesota Senate allows a person training a service dog to have full and equal access to all housing accommodations.
Current law gives homeowners associations the authority to prevent residents from housing service dogs in training. The legislation requires that a dog must be actively trained by an accredited organization.
The bill passed the Senate by a vote of 60-2 and now heads to the governor’s desk to be signed into law.
