ST. PAUL, Minn. – Environmental advocates in Minnesota are voicing concerns about laws they say aren’t being properly enforced by state agencies.
Hudson Kingston, the legal director for CURE, a rural Minnesota advocacy group says, “We shouldn’t have mercury at the level it is in our lakes. People shouldn’t have to worry that if they eat too much naturally caught food, they should be protected to the same level as other Minnesotans, and we expect that, and we would like to see the legislature make sure that it happens.”
Numerous advocacy groups rallied at the Capitol last week to deliver petitions to lawmakers demanding they enforce the state’s environmental laws.
