FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO) – A federal court jury in Fergus Falls has convicted two people from Moorhead on drug-related charges.
Alberto St. Martin Lopez Jr. 58, and 46-year-old Terri Weideman were arrested after a canine alert on a package.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says a search warrant was served and more than nine pounds of methamphetamine were discovered.
A tracking device was added to the package and it was returned to the intended delivery address, a rental unit. Evidence at trial showed that Lopez left the apartment with another three pounds of meth. Weideman worked at a Fargo property management company and helped with drug deliveries to vacant apartments. It’s among the largest meth seizures ever in Clay County. The meth came from California.
Lopez and Weideman will be sentenced later.
The case was investigated by the Postal Inspection Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Moorhead police.
