FARGO (KFGO) – A Fargo man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for kidnapping and brutally raping a woman last March.
40-year-old Travis Holt broke down the woman’s apartment door around 2 a.m. March 30, 2024. He forced her upstairs to his apartment, and used a knife to cut off her clothes before raping her. He also stabbed the woman in the side.
Holt was arrested the next morning by Red River Valley SWAT after he barricaded himself inside his bathroom. He plead guilty to rape, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and meth possession in January.
After his release, Holt will have to serve 5 years of supervised release.
Holt was shot by police in 2019 near Larimore, N.D. when he pointed a gun at officers that were checking out his car when it was parked along Highway 2. He served 5 years in prison for terrorizing and possession of a firearm by a violent felon.
