EAGAN, Minn. – Congresswoman Angie Craig is speaking out against the Trump administration’s plan to cut 80,000 jobs at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The Minnesota Democrat spoke at a “Hands Off the VA” rally Thursday in Eagan.
“Folks that I talk to in Minneapolis, across Minnesota, across the 2nd District, we have one of the best VAs in the country,” Craig says. “And we have to make sure that we protect those services for our veterans.”
Craig notes that “so many” of the affected VA workers are also military veterans. She says one of the jobs eliminated at the Minneapolis VA was a veteran employee who helped cut waste, fraud, and abuse in the VA system.
