FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – A Tokio, North Dakota man has pleaded guilty in the death of a child on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation.
29-year-old Austin Lester appeared in federal court where he pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and assault of a child with a dangerous weapon. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says the charges are related to the August 2022 neglect and death of a three-year-old. He’s scheduled to be sentenced in early august.
A co-defendant, Krissy Hinsley, is scheduled to change her plea to guilty on similar charges and be sentenced in late July. The investigation was conducted by the FBI.
