Interim University System Chancellor Brent Sanford
BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – The North Dakota Board of Higher Education has chosen former Lieutenant Governor Brent Sanford as interim chancellor of the university system. He was Lieutenant Governor under Former Governor Doug Burgum.
Chancellor Mark Hagerott announced his retirement last week, effective April 29. He had served as chancellor the past 10 years.
Sanford has been serving as interim president at Bismarck State College since early January and cannot hold both positions.
The board also named Dr. Dan Leingang to fill the interim president position at Bismarck State College. Leingang is a vice-president at BSC.
