FARGO (KFGO) โ The Fargo Park District and Minnesota Native Landscapes will conduct prescribed burns at Bison Meadows, Lions Conservancy, Rocking Horse, and Pontes Parks as part of ongoing land management efforts.
The park district says the burns are planned to take place during the week of April 15 but dates are subject to change based on weather conditions, including wind, moisture and site suitability.
Prescribed burns are a widely used conservation tool that help maintain native prairie ecosystems by reducing invasive species, enhancing plant diversity, and improving habitat for wildlife. Fire also plays a natural role in nutrient cycling and soil health, promoting the long-term sustainability of green spaces.
