
Caleb Coffey (NW Regional Corrections Center)
CROOKSTON, Minn. (KFGO) โ The man who was shot by police after a high-speed chase through northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota has been identified.
The Polk County Sheriffโs Office says 34-year-old Caleb Coffey from Oklahoma crossed into the U.S. at the Pembina crossing in North Dakota. Coffey fled from Border Patrol, and crossed into Minnesota into Marshall County. Coffey fled at high speeds south on Highway 75 through downtown Crookston. The pursuit ended on Polk County Road 9 south of Crookston.
Coffey was shot by police, and taken to Altru in Grand Forks with non-life threatening injuries. He was later released and taken to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center.
The officer who shot Coffey has not been identified. Several agencies were involved in the pursuit. The Minnesota BCA is investigating the shooting.
