ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. โ Fuel analysts say President Trumpโs tariffs on imports are not to blame for a 20-cent jump in gas prices in the last week.
AAA Minnesotaโs Brynna Knapp says tariffs on crude and refined oil were excluded from the latest round.
โNo tariffs on Canadian or Mexican petroleum and no tariffs on European gasoline cargoes that come into the U.S., but again itโs too early for us to comment on if they will impact gas prices directly,โ Knapp says.
Knapp says itโs typical to see a spike in gas prices in April as more people are driving and refineries switch from winter to summer-grade fuel.
