FARGO (KFGO) – City inspector Shawn Ouradnik says the City of Fargo has declared a large apartment building dangerous and directed the owner to make repairs or additional action will likely be taken.
The eight-floor University Drive Manor is just off University Drive on 2nd Ave. N. There are 90 units in the building.
Ouradnik says unsafe conditions were found inside, and those still living there have until next Monday to vacate the apartment building.
“We’re requiring it to be repaired,” Ouradnik said Tuesday. “[We] are also requiring some engineering on some of the different elements within the building to make sure that they are structurally sound. When we started looking at some things closer and stuff, we did start seeing some structural defects on the outside.”
Ouradnik says it’s not known what may happen once the engineers start examining the structure.
