WEST FARGO (KFGO) – West Fargo Police say felony charges are pending against a Fargo man accused of vandalizing a Tesla Cybertruck in the Costco parking lot over the weekend.
The owner of the Cybertruck called police Saturday afternoon to report his vehicle had been keyed and the suspect was gone.
Investigators used cameras from the Cybertruck and nearby businesses to identify the suspect as 25-year-old Ryan Williams. Williams admitted to the vandalism. He faces criminal mischief charges.
The vandalism came on what was called ‘Tesla Takedown Day’ when protesters demonstrated at Tesla dealerships around the country.
Earlier this month, someone tried to set a Tesla supercharger on fire in the parking lot of Scheels All Sports in south Fargo.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has taken the lead on that investigation.
